The topic I linked to is a very valuable resource for computer technicians, especially when dealing with non- en-US versions of Office, since the media is not as readily available, and most customers (in my experience) don't have their original media to install Office from. So, if you happen to own the original media, but it is corrupted or physically broken, or if you don't have a cd drive, you can get the installer based upon the part number on the media. post494558 (still requires valid CD key to use, mind you). If I may link to a topic for those installers and product part numbers here. I'll add my two cents: Microsoft Office downloaders from DigitalRiver are typically named with the original Microsoft Xyz-yyyyy part number that you would find on the original installation media. It's always a good idea to have a means of deciphering those filenames.

Combined with ( 7) for full service pack level information. Means it's an integrated installation with a service pack. The ISO was updated with some critical patch. Examples: windows_7, windows_8, windows_server_2012. Contains various codes to identify language, SKU, volume/OEM and media.

Microsoft has over the years labeled their ISO files in various ways and to some it may be confusing what it means. I am making this post in the hopes to both help our members and myself into understanding what the various tags means in an official Microsoft ISO file.
